    Year R Curriculum Overview

In Year R, children begin an exciting journey of learning through play, exploration and meaningful experiences. Our curriculum is carefully designed to inspire curiosity, develop confidence and build the foundations for future learning. Through engaging activities both indoors and outdoors, children develop their skills across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a real focus on communication and language. Other areas of the curriculum are physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design.

Learning is tailored to meet the needs and interests of our children, enabling them to develop independence, resilience and a love of learning. We work closely with families to ensure every child feels happy, safe and successful as they settle into school life and grow throughout the year.

To find out more about what your child will be learning throughout Year R, please see our Year R Curriculum Overview.
