Welcome to Rabbit Class.
Another wonderful half term is complete Rabbits, it has been packed full of fun, exciting activities and lots of learning. Miss Bell, Miss Pal and Mrs Trifonova are so proud of all of your hard work.
We have been accessing lots of fun activities together across the seven areas of learning and development; Literacy, Maths, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design and Communication and Language.
This half term we have revelled in our topic, 'Once Upon a Time'. We have read lots of different traditional tales, including The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have had to keep a look out for all of the different characters we have met, as they keep coming into school or sending us letters! It has given us so many amazing ideas and we were inspired to write our own sentences and stories.
In Phonics, we have been looking at blending lots of different length words together that contain all of the sounds that we learnt in Phase 2 and Phase 3. We remembered that using our Robot arms help us to chop up and blend the words back together again. We have been fantastic at thinking of a sentence to include these words. Remember to keep practising all of your sounds and key words that have been sent out to you, we love seeing your happy faces when you get to move your astronaut to the next planet.
In Maths we have been investigating lots of different Maths concepts! We have been using resources from around the classroom to help us measure the length of the beds that Goldilocks slept in and the height of Jack's beanstalks. We even found some giant footprints outside and decided to measure them using our feet and hands. We have been looking at different patterns so that we could decorate The Gingerbread Man, we used our wonderful language and communication to give instructions to our friends on how to decorate theirs. We have also been using our careful counting strategies to help us add groups of buttons for the Gingerbread Man and his friends.
We are incredibly excited about next half term when our topic will be ‘Under the sea’. We will be reading lots of exciting ocean stories and going on a submarine adventure to discover what animals live under water!
