Welcome to Year 2 and Owl Class!
Our year starts with the topic ‘Fire, fire!’ which will take us back in time to London in 1666. We will learn about Samuel Pepys and his diary and why the Great Fire of London spread so quickly. In Art, we look forward to creating silhouette masterpieces and, in Science, describing, comparing and testing different materials. Early in the term, we will be visited by the Fire Service and learn about fire safety. We will also learn how to entertain and describe when writing our stories set during The Great Fire of London.
We will learn about the place value of 2-digit numbers and compare and order numbers from 0 up to 100. We will represent numbers in different ways and solve addition and subtraction problems. Photography will be our focus in our Computing sessions this half term.
We are especially looking forward to ‘The Great Fire of Tweseldown’ later in the term!
