A message from Mrs Tottem:

Tweseldown Infant School continues to excel, achieving a strong “Good” overall rating in our latest Ofsted inspection (January 2023), with Outstanding judgements for both leadership and management and personal development.

Inspectors praised our school’s exceptional care for pupils’ wellbeing, creating a safe, inclusive environment where children feel valued and thrive emotionally and socially. Inspectors stated that pupils develop a strong moral compass and are consistently kind, respectful, and thoughtful—thanks to our rich curriculum that actively promotes empathy, confidence, and resilience.

All of our staff model and reinforce the school’s values daily, fostering behaviour that is calm, purposeful, and rooted in mutual respect. Teaching remains consistently strong, particularly in early reading and maths, and new pupils settle in quickly due to effective early assessment and tailored support.

At every level, our leadership’s clear vision, strategic planning, and strong community engagement ensures that our school remains a nurturing and aspirational place for all children to flourish.
