    Deborah Stevens

My name is Deborah Stephenson, and I am Co-Chair of Governors. My career has always involved children and I have been Head of Student Services at a College, where I had responsibility for safeguarding and wellbeing, and a Curriculum Manager in Early Years Education.I am passionate about giving children the best possible start in their educational journey. I live in Fleet and I know a number of parents with children at Tweseldown Infants. I live in Church Crookham and my youngest child is currently at Tweseldown. I hope to be able to bring my experience, financial insight and strategic mindset from my role in Procurement for a large FMCG company to the governing body and help the school in continuing to provide a setting that allows all pupils to grow, develop and thrive. As well as Co-Chair, I am also the Safeguarding Lead Governor for the school.

    Ben White

    Chair of Finance and Personnel

My name is Ben White. I joined the governing board in November 2022 as a parent governor. I am a Principal Consultant working for an international consultancy & software company leading on many projects and programmes in the area of crisis management, business continuity and risk management, working for organisations all over the world.

I want to be able to support the local community in which I live, and I am passionate about teaching and education and I want to do anything I can to improve educational outcomes for all. I hope to be able to bring a myriad of skills and experiences to the governing body and the school and, ultimately, help to improve education delivered by the school. My specific areas of focus for the Governing Body are as the Development and Training Governor and in health and safety (risk management).

    Jeev Chhokar
    Governor

My name is Jeev Chhokar, and I was appointed as a Governor in April 25.

I have lived across Surrey and Hampshire all my life and moved to Church Crookham. I currently have 1 child attending Tweseldown Infant School.  I am deeply invested in the school’s success & long-term development.

With over 15 years of experience in technology, digital transformation, and strategic leadership across education, enterprise, and public-sector environments, I bring a wide range of technical, operational, and business insight to the governing board. As the Governor responsible for Digital, IT and Strategy, and as a member of the Finance Committee, I am committed to supporting our continued modernisation, strengthening our technology infrastructure, improving cybersecurity, enhancing digital learning opportunities and ensuring our financial decisions deliver value, sustainability, and long-term benefit for the school.

Above all, my goal is to support the school leadership team in creating an inspiring, nurturing and innovative environment where every child can thrive.

I also teach mathematics, but I am a PE teacher by trade, meaning I have a passion for sport and a strong belief in the importance of sport in the development of a young person.

I become a governor with the hope that my experience of 25 years in education can help the young people in my local community reach their potential.

    Nigel Davies
    Governor

My name is Nigel Davies. I joined the Governing Body as a Local Authority Governor in March 2026.I have lived in Church Crookham since 1996 and was previously a governor at Tweseldown when my two children attended school. It was still at the old site in Tweseldown Road.

I have worked in senior roles in the technology sector, with a focus on providing strategic advice to organisations, managing outcomes against ambitious targets and capability development of teams. Now that I have retired, I wish to do more to use my experience to support the community in Church Crookham. I believe there is no better way of doing this than helping our local infant school to ensure its pupils get the best possible start to their journey in education.

    Paul Wilkin
    Parent Governor

My name is Paul Wilkin and I joined the governing body in May 2026 as a parent governor. I have extensive experience in STEM (especially biology and biodiversity), management of projects and people, and strategic thinking through my employer, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where I lead a research department and have had a broad range of roles and experiences. They include challenging, diverse (in every sense), complex and international settings. I am keen to transfer knowledge I have gained to the TIS setting where possible, to learn and to make a contribution as a parent and a scientist with an interest in how children and adults everywhere depend on nature and natural resources.

I am a parent to two boys, one of whom is at TIS and another has already moved on to CCJS, and I live in the immediate environment of both schools. I also have a third son who is both an undergraduate student and on the autistic spectrum. His challenges and successes make me aware of and able to advocate for effective provision for those with ASD in both educational and wider settings. I am really enthusiastic to see learning and excellence being a priority for everyone.

    Katie Astles
    Parent Governor

My name is Katy Astles and I joined the governing body in October 2025 as a parent governor and hope to bring my work and personal experience to the role. I am a paediatric occupational therapist and lead clinician at a SEN school in Farnborough. I qualified as an occupational therapist in 2012 after training via an apprenticeship programme while working in community neurotherapy simultaneously. In 2015, I completed my postgraduate certificate in sensory integration and have specialised in sensory integration for the majority of my career as an OT. I am a parent to 2 children who attend Tweseldown Infants and, as parent governor, I want to be involved in school development and to be part of the school’s journey. I am passionate about an inclusive approach and an enriching curriculum. I believe strongly in supporting the school community and am passionate about ensuring all children are learning and thriving.

    Laura Fewtrell
    Staff Governor

I am proud to serve as a Staff Governor at Tweseldown Infant School and to be part of the local community. I am currently in my fourteenth year of teaching and have held a range of leadership responsibilities across Hampshire schools, including Key Stage Leader and subject leadership roles in Geography, English and now Science. Through these positions, I have led curriculum development to ensure learning is engaging, ambitious, and meaningful for all children. I am passionate about mentoring teachers and supporting their professional growth. I particularly enjoy the creative aspects of teaching and believe children should be given opportunities to develop both academically and socially. Building strong relationships with children and their families is central to my work. In my current role, I lead inclusion and pastoral care, ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and able to thrive. I became a governor to gain a greater understanding of the strategic leadership of Tweseldown and to contribute staff perspectives to governing body discussions, helping to support the school's continued development and success.
