Hedgehog Class Blog

Well done Hedgehog class, we have achieved so much this term. We have revised and consolidated the phase 2 sounds and have been practising segmenting (sound out) and blending (putting the sounds back together) CVC words e.g.cat, dog etc.

In Maths we have been learning all about numbers up to 11, we have been finding 1 more and 1 less using objects and number lines. We have even had a go at adding and subtracting where we learnt  how to form a number sentence.

Next term we are looking forward to our exciting top secret topic where we will be learning through the children's interests and focusing on having an engaging and exiting start to the year. We will be starting to learn a new set of sounds in phonics so watch out for phase 3 sound cards.

In Maths we will be exploring capacity, length, weight and understanding prepositions; such as on top of, next to and behind. We will be using our outside space during our measuring topic to be creative, especially the water area and mud kitchen; so don't forget your waterproofs!

Thank you for all your support so far, have a lovely Christmas and we can't wait to see you in January.
