Resource Provision

Welcome to the Autism Resource Provision at Tweseldown Infant School

(more affectionately known as Dragonfly class)

We are delighted to be opening our Autism Resource Provision in September 2026, providing specialist support for children with autism within our nurturing and inclusive school community.

Our provision is designed for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) whose primary need is autism. The provision will offer a calm, structured and supportive environment where children can develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to thrive both academically and socially.

Children attending the Resource Provision will be valued members of the Tweseldown Infant School community. They will benefit from small group support, specialist teaching approaches, and access to tailored interventions, whilst also having opportunities to learn, play and participate alongside their mainstream peers whenever appropriate.

Our highly trained staff understand that every child is unique. We work closely with families, professionals and the children themselves to ensure that support is personalised, strengths are celebrated and barriers to learning are removed. Our aim is to help every child feel safe, understood and successful. Just like our mainstream school, pupils ‘grow and learn together.’

The provision will include autism-friendly learning spaces, opportunities for sensory regulation, structured routines, and targeted support for communication, emotional wellbeing and social development. Above all, we are committed to creating an environment where children can flourish, build meaningful relationships and achieve their full potential.

At Tweseldown Infant School, we believe that inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to welcoming children and families to this exciting new provision.

Pupils wishing to join our provision must have an EHCP and be allocated a place by the local authority as spaces are allocated to pupils across the Fleet area.
